Stars are beautiful. They have been around for millions of years and some that we can see now no longer exist because of the speed of light. As such, they have a very magical and appealing aura about them.

Back TattooIn addition, stars have a more mystical appeal with star signs, such as Gemini. What’s more, stars can be arranged in whatever kind of pattern you want, and therefore do not have to be in a zodiac pattern, but in any kind of order you want.

You could use different sizes of stars to create whatever sorts of patterns you want. If you want to spell someone’s name using stars, do it! If you want to use stars to create the shape of a butterfly or some angel wings, do it!

Using stars in your design is a great way of increasing the womanliness of your tattoo. It’s therefore possible for you to have any sort of pattern you want and incorporate some stars.

Have fun with your design!

They sound great, but what are they? Essentially, Kanji are the Chinese symbols used in Japanese writing.

Given the beauty and grace of such symbols, they are a very popular choice for women seeking to adorn their lower backs with something special.

Whilst some women prefer pictures of butterflies, angels, animals, etc, on their lower back, other women prefer to have something which is more rare: Kanji tattoo symbols.

Writing in KanjiThe great thing about them is that even ordinary words can be made to look fantastic. Unless someone can read Kanji, they also add an air of mystery to your body. When combined with their location on your lower back, the effect is spellbinding!

The key consideration when having any foreign words tattooed onto your skin is to ensure you understand their meaning. If you are not fluent, you must get someone to help you.

If you drawn to Kanji style tattoos, we’d recommend also considering Chinese lettering. Such letters have been around much longer than Kanji and there is an awesome service online which will translate whatever words you want into Chinese. There are various options (depending on how many words you would like translated) and many further options relating to styles and placement. Lots of choice, so check it out now!

Lower back tattoos can be breathtaking if the designs are chosen properly. Celtic tattoo symbols are gaining in popularity amongst women who want to express their femininity and creativity using traditional symbols which were first used in medieval Ireland.

A symbol is usually seen as being different from a usual sign. This is because of the meaning associated with such a pattern. With the immense amount of history connected to such patterns, Celtic tattoo symbols are chosen for their historical value and their sheer simplistic beauty.

Celtic RoseMany of the symbols have their basis in religion. Many of such symbols are therefore crosses, or based on crosses; many have a ring which surrounds the point at which the horizontal and vertical lines of the cross meet. Legend has it that such crosses were created in Ireland to show Pagan followers that Christianity was connected to their beliefs, by combining the Christian cross with the Pagan symbol of the sun.

People often select Celtic symbols for their almost tribal symbolism; of times when life was more simple and technology was limited. They are also popular with those wanting a more sombre and meaningful tattoo as there are many examples of Celtic crosses in graveyards and burial grounds. This does not mean to say that they are always so melancholy!

The great thing about Celtic tattoo symbols is that very little is known about them. This may sound like a bad thing, but it enables you to interpret the designs for yourself and incorporate yourself into the design. Use the symbols as a base for your own personalization and bring a piece of the medieval age to life on your skin!

Traditionally, tattoos have been of pictures and images which the wearer is drawn to. A sailor would have had an anchor tattoo; a barmaid may have had a heart tattoo! All very cliche, but you get the point.

As an art form, tattoos have come on leaps and bounds since then. Originally, wearers would request tattoos of images that they were attracted to and which perhaps demonstrated their allegiance to a particular group.

Chinese symbols tattoos have long been regarded as beautiful, mysterious markings that channel an age of tradition, cultures and history. People have viewed Chinese symbols almost as a higher form of tattoo.

With a growing awareness of other cultures and traditions, and the integration of such cultures, people have become more and more aware of tattoos from the other cultures.

This is great news for non-Chinese speakers because the Chinese language provides a very beautiful range of many different symbols which can be used to reflect emotions, imagery, aspects of life, goals and anything else that you can express in your own language. Plus, instead of it appearing as a rather dull English word or picture, the use of Chinese symbols can add instant beauty and elegance. Therefore, if you really want your dog’s name to be tattooed on your lower back (and some have!), it will look much better as a Chinese symbol!

There have been stories of people having tattoos of Chinese symbols, but not knowing what they were tattooed with! As such, it is vital that you find a Chinese translation service which is reliable. I have found this one to be excellent and very responsive.

As with any tattoo, make sure that the design you want to include is something you are really happy with and give yourself some time to mull over your choice.

Pictures, names and animals are all very popular and can be incorporated into many lower back tattoo designs. However, over the last decade or so, many more people have moved away from objects inked onto their skin. These people have seen the benefits of inking on tattoo symbols.

So, what is a tattoo symbol? Well, strictly speaking, there are many types of tattoo symbols around. There are some old school tattoo symbols which include the generic objects like a skull, roses, patriotic symbols and the like. And there are some symbols which are comprised of foreign languages or tribal symbols.

Foreign languages, including Chinese and Japanese, are very popular choices as the symbols are beautiful. As you have decided to tattoo your lower back, you have the option of incorporating more than one symbol (and the option of having such symbols connected in whatever curvaceous way you choose).

the processAs discussed previously, when choosing a symbol to have inked-on, make sure you check and check and check what the symbol means. There’s an old story of a famous car manufacturer who started selling cars in a non-English speaking country. They used the same car brand and didn’t check if the car brand had a particular meaning in this foreign country. This was a big mistake as the brand of car meant “won’t go” in the local language. Naturally, the car didn’t sell very well!

This is equally important for you. Imagine going away to an exotic destination for your vacation and stripping down to your bikini on the beach only to be laughed at/screamed at/burnt alive (ok, the last one we jest – hopefully!) because your tattoo has a particular meaning in your vacation’s destination.

To reduce the problem of having to have vacations in places where the meaning of your tattoo is not impolite, do some research beforehand.
